New Mexico was hot, flat, and I just got a new car. I went in for a job interview at a coffeeshop and threw my stuff in my new car right after. I was off to go do some photo work in Colorado and hike. I found some of the coolest small towns traveling through northern New Mexico. Before I reached Raton, the gnarliest rain storm came through; lighting striking all throughout the mountains in the distance. The winds shook my car and the rain just poured down.
Night one, I was camping at Trinidad Lake State Park- I found this lovely lookout point and sat to eat some watermelon gummy candies and watched the clouds roll over the mountain. I stayed until it started to sprinkle and I went out to find food. I went downtown, walked around the streets, found a lovely rainbow over town, and stumbled upon this cute pizza shop - Bella Luna's. The pizza was delicious, the people were lovely, and outside the shop was an artistically decorated piano.

4:45 a.m. the alarm sounds and I pack up camp. I catch sunrise and head into the city to explore a bit and then look for the Purkatory Coffeehouse. I unknowingly park in front of it, yet walk across the street looking for it. I said hello to this man sitting on the bench and we ended up spending some time chatting. At least an hour passes and this little breakfast cafe opens, so we decided to go in for breakfast and coffee. It was the most delightful time.
I drove past this place called Strawberry Fields and absolutely had to go in. It had the cutest interior design and the guys there were super friendly.
